ABOUT

I'm Mauro, 23, currently living in Zürich, Switzerland.

The first time I got in touch with fitness was in 2007. I remember this day like it was yesterday. I came home with two dumbbells in my hands, 10kg each. Actually, I still got them somewhere. I started working out in my room. Some Push Ups here, some Crunches and Biceps Curls there and so on. After about three or four months not seeing any results, I quitted my little selfmade workout.

« Being "Obsessed" is a word the lazy ones use to describe the dedicated. »

Together with a friend of mine I singed my first membership in a local gym in February 2010. We went to the gym like about three times a week. But again, after two months of getting nowhere and only seeing minimal results I started to take things really flippantly. At that time I went to the gym like once or twice a week - at most.

September 2010 changed everything for me! If I wanna be dramatic I would say this month changed my life forever - but maybe we're not taking it that far. Anyway. I talked to my personal trainer about my unsatisfactory results. He changed my individual training routine. I went back to the gym three or four times a week and actually loved it. The progress was immense. In only about five months I gained round about 20kg (fat included of course). Others noticed my body change as well. Within hours after posting my progress on facebook some of my friends started to ask me about exercises and diets I could recommend - Women included -. Yes ladies weight is not necessarily a bad thing.

Over the last years I focused more on proportion and getting my weaker body parts equal to the stronger ones. And so this is what Starathlete is all about: building well-balanced muscles and getting a healthy body. If you wanna to see results don't turn of your brain. Having a positive mind will help you seeing some results you can be proud of. So let's workout together and get the best you can get out of yourself.

Always remember: Fast results may not always be the best ones. It is important to maintain a healthy body and mental physique. Longer term.
